Italian Varietals

October 2020

We're excited to be exploring the world of Italian varietals grown in Oregon this month.

There are a growing number of innovative winemakers who are challenging the ideal of the typical Oregon wine. They know that Italian grapes are unique in this land of Pinot Noir and are food-friendly, versatile wines.

For wine lovers looking to explore different styles right here in our own backyard, this is a great chance to try some unique, exceptional Italian style wines with an Oregon twist.

Our first red is a Sangiovese from Apolloni Vineyards in Forest Grove, an Italian winemaker by birth carrying on his family's passion for wine here in Oregon.  Our second red is the Tero Estates “ST”, a super Tuscan style blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our first white is a traditional Italian grape, Vermentino, made in a distinctly Oregon style from Southern Oregon's Troon Vineyard. And our second white is the Vaso Bianco from Cana’s Feast, a blend of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Traminer, and Moscato.
